Science Fair Rules and Regulations
You may have a partner.
There are three categories in which you can enter; Earth, Life, Physical. If you do not know what category your project falls under please see your teacher or contact Heather Wagstaff or Jeni Young.
There will be 3 divisions. K-1, 2-3, 4-5.
There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for each category in each division.
Once the judges have placed the winners they will then determine a grand prize winner.
No living organisms (plants or animals) are allowed at the science fair or with your display. You may use living organisms for your project; however you will need to use pictures of the living organisms on your board.
You may take pictures of yourself performing the experiment; however you can not show your face (to remain anonymous to the judges).
There will be no electricity available during the display and judging of the projects.
Must turn in entry form by Monday Dec. 14th 2009.
Judging Criteria
Creativity and Originality
Does the project show creative approach or thought in design or presentation?
Presentation
Was it visually appealing, neat and attractive?
Child Oriented
Does the project show evidence of having been done by the child?
Written Work
Are the title, purpose, hypothesis, materials, procedure, results, conclusions, & acknowledgments present and complete?
Set up Information
Set up- 2:15-4:30 pm Tuesday Jan. 26th in the Vandergriff cafeteria. We will be there to direct you to where you should set up your project.
Parents may bring in completed projects as early as 2:15 on Thursday.
At 4:30 pm doors will be closed and the judging will begin.
The Science Fair will begin at 6:30 and end at 8:00. During this time you can come back and see all of the fun projects done by your friends. There will also be a short award ceremony during this time.You may have a partner.
